Egg Donation Process

The egg donation process through Royal Donor typically lasts about six to eight weeks, although individual timelines may vary. Here’s a general outline of the steps involved:

1
Reviewing Egg Donor Requirements

Before applying, potential donors should carefully review the requirements set by Royal Donor. Key criteria include: - Being of full, mixed, or partial Asian descent (e.g., Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc.) - Age between 21 and 29 - Maintaining a healthy BMI - Being a non-smoker and not using drugs - Having regular menstrual cycles For a complete list of requirements, please refer to our website.

2
Application Process

The first step is to complete the online application on the Royal Donor site. Our team will review your submission and may either proceed to the prescreening stage or contact you for additional information. If you have prior experience as an egg donor, we will ask for your medical records from previous cycles. This stage generally takes 1-3 weeks, not including any medical record processing.

5
Medical Review and Screening

Next, we will send your medical records and matching information to the IVF clinic, which will then schedule an in-person medical screening. Our agency will assist with travel arrangements. Depending on your location, some screening steps may be done locally, but you must attend the clinic for at least one day. This process usually takes about 2-4 weeks.

6
Legal Contract

After passing the medical screening, we’ll connect you with a fertility attorney to guide you through the legal aspects of your donation. You and your attorney will review a contract from the intended parents’ attorney outlining compensation and legal protections. Promptly scheduling your attorney meetings is crucial, as the donation process cannot move forward without a signed contract. This stage typically takes 1-2 weeks, depending on your availability.

9
Recovery

After the retrieval, you’ll need a few hours of rest before leaving the clinic. Some cramping or discomfort may occur in the following days, but this usually resolves quickly, and you can return to your normal activities within a day or two. Overall, the egg donation process with Royal Donor generally spans six to eight weeks, but individual experiences may vary based on factors like response to medication. Our expert team is here to support you throughout the process.

3
Prescreening Call

Upon approval of your application, an intake team member will arrange a prescreening call to discuss your health and family history, interests, education, and more. They will also provide details about compensation based on your background. After this call, your profile will be added to our database for intended parents to view, and timing will depend on your availability for the call.

4
Matching with Intended Parents

Your profile will be accessible in the database for intended parents to browse. We can’t predict how long it will take to find a match since preferences vary widely. We recommend keeping your profile updated with new information and photos. If there’s interest from intended parents, we will share their details, including the IVF clinic’s location and any questions they might have for you. You can also ask them questions, and we’ll facilitate those communications. If both you and the intended parents are satisfied, the match will be confirmed.

7
Medication and Monitoring

Once all legal agreements are signed, the IVF clinic will send you the necessary fertility medications, which you’ll take for about 2-3 weeks while attending regular monitoring appointments near your home.

8
Egg Retrieval

When your eggs are ready, you’ll travel to the IVF clinic for the retrieval procedure. Our team will handle travel and accommodation arrangements. You’ll continue medication and undergo monitoring until the clinic decides you’re ready. A Lupron "trigger shot" will be given to mature the eggs, and approximately 36 hours later, you’ll have a minor surgical procedure to retrieve the eggs. This typically lasts about 30 minutes, with a timeline of around 2 weeks for this phase.
